Exterior and Performance

Few rivals can boast all-wheel drive much less the quattro system offered only by Audi. This allows the compact to handle the road better in dry and wet weather. A six-speed S tronic dual-clutch automatic controls the 2.0 TFSI turbo four. The e-tron combines a four-cylinder engine and an electric motor to produce 204 horsepower. With the available Adaptive Cruise Control, A3 drivers can use cruise even in stop-and-go traffic.

Interior and Technology

Shoppers can enjoy the A3 as a sedan, a cabriolet, or a hatchback, known as the Sportback e-Tron. Standards include a 10-speaker audio system and a dual-zone automatic climate system. Shoppers may choose leather seating which fits right into this high quality, technologically-advanced cabin setting. Higher editions offer a 14-speaker Bang and Olufsen sound system. The sedan offers a panoramic sunroof that can make it feel almost as free as the exciting A3 Cabriolet. At speeds up to 31 mph, this convertible can put its acoustic roof up or down in approximately 18 seconds. Shoppers will appreciate its standard front power chairs.

Audi's most affordable ride offers Audi's most exciting feature, the exclusive Audi virtual cockpit. Replacing regular instrumentation there is a 12.3-inch multi-purpose screen behind the steering wheel. NVIDIA quad core processing power ensures vibrant color for instrumentation, displays, and, when accessed, Google maps. The premium compact sedan offers MMI® touch, an advanced touchscreen system that coordinates streaming audio. In addition to its handwriting-recognition technology, the system has a horizontal menu with two touch-keys and a simplified function-key layout.

2018 Audi A3 Interior

In 2017, the model earned the Top Safety Pick designation from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Audi pre-sense basic is an important standard. It prepares the cabin's airbags and seatbelts when it determines impact is likely. Audi pre sense front combines a forward collision monitor and automatic braking. If the car veers over the line at speeds over 40 mph, the steering wheel will vibrate as part of the available Audi Active Lane Assist. A blind spot monitor watches for trouble as part of available Audi Active Side Assist. In addition to a standard rearview camera, an available rear cross traffic assist will try to slow the A3 when traffic may intercept the A3's reverse path. Parking system plus uses the MMI display to instruct the driver on the safest parking maneuvers.
